Do Dent Pullers Work?
However, not all glue pullers are made the same.
For example, the dent puller here which can be found on Ebay, Amazon, Facebook marketplace and other generic selling platform does work but there are some issues with this device.
These issues are (in my opinion):
1. Weight – this puller is definitely more heavier when compared with other lifters such as the Keco Mini Lifter (this is our preferred dent puller)
2. Materials – the use of steel is good but it is not ideal as this can easily damage the paint if it were to accidentally drop onto the cars’ panel.
3. Design – The height adjusting knob at the top of the tool is not made very well as it requires a lot of effort to move the pulling piece into place. This is important to us because when we are fixing dents, we want everything to work effortlessly.
Other than these 3 small issues, this tool is pretty good for its price. However, if you are to go out and buy this puller, I highly recommend not using the glue and tabs that come with it as they are very poor in quality and can easily pull off the paint.
We recommend using these tabs and glue instead.
However, you must be aware that glue pulling can seriously damage your panel and paint if you do not know what you are doing.
If you are going to go down the route of DIY dent repairs, I recommend speaking to someone who has done it before for tips and tricks before you start. Or else, repairing what you have tried repairing may cost you 10 times more.
